Vintage Corning Vision Frying Pan

so a couple people have asked about this
Asian by Corning pound and how does it
cook you know it’s glass and so on and
quite honest I’m a little bit curious
about that myself
we had a vision pots when I was young
here but you know we only use those for
cooking like stews or boiling water this
is a frying pan and so I am a little bit
curious as to how this works and it
works well they’re saying I picked this
up that this four box because it looks
as if it has actually never been used
there’s not a mark on it not a scratch
no stains nothing that’s baked or cooked
onto it probably because it’s a weird
small size someone just got it as part
of a set and stuck it in the closet or
kept it in the box or whatever so I
think you know this is a studio close
above minute there to your vision
Corinne France I think this is either
very very lightly used or unused piece
so just the workability who are the
serviceability of it what I’m gonna do
is I’m gonna cook something that you
know what I use to judge any frying pan
it is that’s an omelet and the ease of
you know how well does it cook eggs so
go ahead now and start cooking this
just as I would cook any omelet little
butter medium heat let that melt up
and I’m just going to pause this until
the butter melts so the butter is pretty
melted and just gonna set this around
and cook an omelette and this is just
two scrambled eggs here and we’ll see
how this goes I think it should be hot
enough
and it looks like it’s functioning like
any other frying pan the handle is not
that hot I expect though if you did get
the pan hot enough and I’ll probably
would get out I guess also if you were
baking with it whatever I’m gonna have
to pause and put the phone down so that
I can you know work by omelette magic
here hold on so I’ve just prepared it
like any other omelette sort of pull the
sides away from the side of the pan
gives the time for some liquid eggs to
cook and doing is one-handed so just
have to pause it one more time so we’re
almost done here and you know it doesn’t
seem to be functioning any any
differently than a regular frying pan
it’s it’s actually doing very well like
the eggs are not sticking to the bottom
which I find to be excellent and you can
see and we’re going to move over here
and maybe lower the temperature a little
bit
some slight sticking I think on the side
there where the butter didn’t fully go
but uh you know I like this pan again
the handles not terribly hot really hot
at all to be honest um seems to have
cooked it fairly decent olive so it
falls one more time you know when I flip
the omelette there I guess it gets
hotter than I assumed so I could burn it
a little bit so I just thought be a
little bit of a learning curve on how to
best cook on this and wait here and
[Music]
there’s very little stuck to the pan it
goes maybe I had to temperature up a
little bit too high a little bit maybe
didn’t use enough butter but um I like
this pan and then I’m looking forward to
using it so hope this answered some of
your questions

Glass Skillets Buyers’ Guide

How to cook with a glass skillet?

A glass skillet can be used to cook on a range top (gas and electric) in the oven (conventional, convection, and microwave) and under a broiler. Once you have placed the ingredients inside, heat it up as you would a normal skillet. As it starts to heat up, it will retain heat well and maintain it for a long time, so turn off the heat a few minutes before you know it is going to be ready. When using a glass skillet, you can cook with slightly lower temperatures. The handles may also become hot when exposed to direct heat, so be careful when cooking.

What’s more, your glass skillet will keep your meal warm when you have placed it on a dinner table to serve.
