Tea Kettle Buyer’s Guide

Redesigning the tea kettle
How to use a tea kettle?

A better question would be “how to make tea in a kettle”. Of course, there is the “easy” way of doing it; you can just boil the water and use a teabag. But if you want to get the real feel of your tea, here is what you should do:

– Add 1 teaspoon of tea into the kettle for every cup of water you pour into the kettle.
– After it is boiled take the kettle off the stove or switch it off (in case it’s electric teapot).
– In 5 minutes, separate the leaves from the liquid unless you want your tea to be too strong.
– Pour the tea into the cup and enjoy your tea.

When making the tea also make sure your kettle is properly placed on the burner(if it’s a stovetop kettle). The burner size should match the size of the kettle base, otherwise, some parts of it may end up melting.

Make sure you don’t overfill your kettle and you don’t boil it dry.

How to clean a tea kettle?

Cleaning your teapot and removing all the limescale from inside is very important. If you want to have a clean electric tea kettle you need to know the proper way to descale a tea kettle.

Lucky for us the process is very easy and has only a few steps. All you need to do is to take 350-400 ml of both water and vinegar, mix them in your electric water kettle and boil it. After boiling it for a few minutes the limescale inside will disappear.

The same can be done with a stainless steel stovetop kettle. If you want to use other ingredients, you can do the following:

1. Put a cup of baking soda into the kettle.
2. Fill the whole kettle with water.
3. Boil the mix.
4. Once it’s boiled, remove the kettle from the heat and let it rest for 10 mins.
5. Then take bottle scrubber and start cleaning your kettle.
6. If the stain doesn’t disappear, pour out most of the water leaving only a little on the bottom.
7. Add more soda into it, so you can get a paste-like substance.
8. Start brushing the stain with the paste and your scrubber.
9. After doing that for some time, your kettle should be clean.

If you want to keep your kettle from rusting or breaking and you want to keep it in good condition you should carefully read and follow the instructions given by the manufacturer. If you do so with the kettles we’ve discussed here, you will have a durable kettle for a long time.
