How to Clean a Gas Grill?

Cleaning and Restoring Neglected Flat Top Commercial Grills

Grill Cleaner Buyers’ Guide

How to clean a gas grill?

There are many grill cleaning tools you can find in the market, but nothing can be as good as a long-handled wire brush. Avoid chemical and toxic formulas for cleaning your grill gas. Those formulas can impact not only the taste of the food but also be harmful to your stomach. Instead, the cleaning ingredients you need are warm water, baking soda, dish soap, and vinegar. If the exterior surface of your grill gas is stainless steel, then vinegar will add extra shine and freshness to the machine. What you will also need are gloves and sponges.

How to clean a charcoal grill?

If you own a charcoal grill, you should have a deep cleaning at least twice per grilling season. If you do not clean your grill, often carbon trash will build up, causing rust build up on the grates. For cleaning a charcoal grill, you will need a brush, paper or plastic bags, putty knife, or bristle brush. Remove the grill grate, clean it with a brush and scrub it with aluminum foil. Use it for cleaning any remaining dirt on the surface. Then clean the bottom of the grill by wiping out any remaining dust off it. After you have done all the steps, put back the grill parts, and get ready to grill!

How to season a grill?

Seasoning is one crucial step in the preparation of your food on the grill. It helps your grill grates remove contaminants and seals pores for food to stop from sticking to the surface with high-heat cooking oil before turning the grill on. You can use either peanut oil, coconut oil, or spray-can vegetable oil. Then wipe any excess oil with a paper towel. Turn on the grill at a high temperature for up to 20 minutes until the oil starts to smoke. After proper seasoning, you will notice your grates turning into dark bronze color, and that is when you are ready for cooking.

How to clean rusty grill grates?

Many clean their grill right after using it, which can help to clean the rusty grates but harm the stainless steel. Let’s see what the most effective way to clean rusty grill grates without causing any harm to it is — mix two cups of vinegar and a cup of salt in a bowl. Then place your rusty grill grates in a bag and pour the vinegar plus salt substance in it after which tie it shut. Let it soak overnight and take the rust off with a rag the next day. There are also many other substances you may use to clean the rust off; however, beware of the chemicals in it. In any case, the method, as mentioned above, will correctly work out and add extra shine to our grill grates!
