West Bend 82515 Theater Crazy
West Bend Popcorn Popper Buyers’ Guide
The oil you should be using depends on the type of popcorn popper you choose to purchase. Always read the manual to find the specific details of which oils should be used and how. When using the West Bend Air Crazy, you do not have to use any oil. But if you want to make buttered popcorn, then put a few tablespoons of warm butter, which has been cut into 4 uniform sizes into the measuring cup. If you use cold butter or butter from the fridge, then it will not melt fully in the short pop cycle. If you want to make popcorn that tastes as if it came straight from the movie theatre, then consider using Flavacol and Dutchman’s Popcorn Coconut Oil.
Start by taking out the cover of the machine and using the measuring cup to fill a level ½ cup of popcorn kernels. Pour only the kernels into the popping chamber, without any oil, butter or salt. Put the cover securely into its place and put the cup inside. If you want to make buttered popcorn, then place the butter into the measuring cup in the cover. Place a large bowl under the popcorn chute in order to collect the popped popcorn. Plug the machine into a 120 volt AC wall socket and press the ON/OFF button. Wait for the popcorn to finish popping, and after 3-4 minutes, unplug the popper from the outlet. Let it sit for one minute, then enjoy your popcorn.
