KitchenAid Toaster Oven Review

everyone is saving from semi-sweet life
and today’s topic is a request from mom
of two she wanted to know all about my
new kitchen a toaster oven it’s in there
I am going to walk you through all the
ins and outs of the toaster oven I have
been loving it it’s just so much nicer I
mentioned it in one other video and I
want to talk about more details about it
so let’s go ahead and go into the
kitchen so here it is in all its glory
it is a large toaster oven it actually
will accommodate a 12-inch pizza so it
actually included a 12-inch pizza pan
here so you can make up to a 12-inch
pizza in here I really wanted a toaster
oven just to use in place of the big
oven when I had something small to cook
you know if I’m just heating up a couple
of fish sticks for a preschooler I don’t
need to heat up that big honkin thing
waste energy and waste time because it
takes a lot longer I just wanted
something quick and easy and I do also
make our toast in here now I haven’t
gotten rid of our toaster but I haven’t
used it since we’re having this I really
just love it so much I’ll talk more
about you know all the functions and
stuff but I wanted to show you guys here
it is not the cheapest KitchenAid
toaster oven available it is a more
expensive one it’s got more features and
the main thing I really liked which is
kind of sad but one of the main reasons
I got it was because it was the aqua sky
color and it matches my actual
KitchenAid mixer so this is an aqua sky
KitchenAid mixer and then aqua sky
toaster oven so they match they look
really good together and I just think
it’s beautiful so the color is only on
the front panel it’s not on the top or
the sides that’s all stainless steel and
I’ve noticed especially on this side
since it’s close to the sink I’ve gotten
little like water droplets here and
there so I will have to clean this side
because of the water talking about the
actual oven I will link to the one that
is it does come in it’s showing eight
colors here so it’s got the aqua sky
cobalt blue gloss cinnamon which is a
deep red majestic yellow onyx black
stainless steel
and that looks like one of the colors is
again stainless steel and then it also
has a white so you can choose from the
colors they are different prices on the
Amazon
this one’s currently listed at 220 399
and like I said it’s not cheap for a
toaster oven you can get a whole lot
cheaper one’s even cheaper KitchenAid
ones I’ll leave all the information
below but this one is an 1800 watt
digital countertop oven 12-inch
stainless steel so it does have the 12
inch space on the inside you can see it
has one rack it is removable and there
are three positions it tells you like a
little guide for where to put it
I just always leave it right in the
middle for what I’m doing which is just
reheating things really quickly we have
baked cookies in it and we also have
toasted things and put bagels in and
really just use two functions mostly I
use the toast and the bake and it will
automatically turn on once you start
messin with the knobs it’s got a little
digital display it does the temperature
and it also does the time so you said it
and I’ve noticed one thing that I didn’t
particularly like about this setup but
then I realized I can change it so when
I’m going to bake I set the time usually
for 350 for whatever time you just press
this one in to toggle between the two
you change the temperature change the
time and so when you have it set for
what you want you have to hit start and
this is the part I didn’t like you hit
start and it says preheating it doesn’t
countdown your time and once it’s
preheated you have to come back to it
and hit start again go ahead and slide
in whatever you’re heating up or cooking
and then it’ll start what I found I
don’t really like that because then I
have to come back in a few minutes put
my stuff in and I’m wasting that couple
of minutes I find that I want to go
ahead and have the timer start ticking
down I don’t want to have to come back
and hit start again
so I turned it off so what I do is I go
ahead and get it set I press it twice I
press Start twice one two so it’ll still
be preheating but the time will already
set I can go ahead and pop my thing in I
am one of those people unless it’s like
cookies and something really specific I
just popped my food in and let the timer
go some people will probably gasp that I
say that I just stick the food in while
it’s preheating but it just it’s so much
easier than waiting to you know the four
or five minutes I can just go ahead and
put it in I sometimes will you know
crank up the time from your recommended
time to account for that preheating time
but I found that it’s really nice to
just hit it twice and I don’t have to
come back to it hit the button again so
anyway let’s go ahead and turn it off
since we’re not really using it so down
here it’s got convection and frozen
buttons so if your food happens to be
frozen you hit this it adds a couple
minutes to your cook time and then the
convection oven circulates the air so
convection is just a way of cooking in
the booklet it says things can cook
about 30% faster if you use the
convection so I usually have that turned
on walking through everything it gives
you a lot of options so it’s got a
reheat a cookie preset bagel toast pizza
baked asado roast which I have not used
a broiled and a keep warm so it has the
presets already dialed in for those you
can change them of course with the
toggle button I already talked about the
temps but the bagel and the toast have a
little bit different of settings so it
gives you a shade all the way up to
eight and then you can put it wherever
you want it I pull whole-wheat bread out
of the fridge I set it on four and it’s
nice and golden brown not burned and I
can do six pieces of toast in here so
it’s kind of warm now because I was
playing with the buttons but I can do
six pieces of toast three across too
deep so three in the back three in the
front makes six
so that’s been really nice to just have
it all toast at the same time and so you
just toggle with the shade how many
slices you have I usually leave it on
four and then I just change how many
slices if it’s just me I have one or two
and if it’s all of us I go up to six and
so let’s say a normal day I would put it
on shade four for four slices it’s just
Olivia and I
morning and then I hit start you go
ahead and put in your toast before you
hit start and then it tells you how much
time is left and then they come out
perfectly toasted if I happen to be
doing room temp bread or toast I’ll put
it on shape number three but because
it’s in the fridge it needs that extra
little bit of time so I have found that
I just love it I use this all the time I
have roasted broccoli in here instead of
putting it in the big oven if I just
have one little sheet pan of broccoli
and I can use this for a lot of things
too because it’s a nice big big pan that
will fit all the way in there so it’s a
really nice big toaster oven there are
plenty of toaster ovens that are much
much smaller than this if you’re looking
for a smaller profile toaster oven it is
big it takes up a big portion of this
counter but I find that I have enough
counter space that it’s no big deal for
this to take up so much space really
just love the look of it because it is
the aqua color it has the really pretty
industrial handle like our fridge and
our oven they all have the same kind of
big handles I just really like the look
of that as far as cleanup I haven’t had
any like nasty spills or anything I do
have crumbs so I go ahead and take out
the crumb tray and just wipe it off and
it’s super easy to just wipe it off
really easily and it comes all the way
out and slides it slides right back in
and it’s super easy to just get crumbs
off that way I have found when I’m
sliding pieces of bread and I’ll get
crumbs on the front thing so I do have
to wipe this also from time to time but
as far as as far as cleanup this is a
lot easier cleanup than the mini toaster
oven that we had had I ended up getting
rid of that one pretty quickly it’s just
a really nice size it keeps me from
heating up the whole house with the big
up and I can just pop this in and we
also have gas so this is natural gas and
then this is using electric I have been
probably using this once a day sometimes
twice a day
I just really love it like I said it is
one of the pricier ones if you still
want like a KitchenAid one I think the
cheapest one they have is about $99 but
I really just I liked the color I liked
all the functionality of this one and
went ahead and splurged on this one I
hope you guys enjoyed this KitchenAid
review if you’re interested in other
things that you see showing in the blog
if you just see something on the
background say hey what’s that and I’d
be happy to talk more about it and
review it and talk about why it’s that
one
other ones in a similar fashion to this
video so I hope you guys enjoyed it I
really hope you found it helpful thank
you to mom of two for the video
suggestion please give me a thumbs up
and subscribe if you like review type of
videos and we’ll catch you next time
thanks for watching bye
