KitchenAid 2-Burner Gas Grill Review

hi this is Michael and this is my review
of the KitchenAid 2 burner gas grill and
as you can see it does come with a grill
cover before I take the cover off though
I want to point out one thing you need
to be aware of see this really sharp
point on each side this is where the
side tray folds down and it is very
sharp and if you’re not careful that is
definitely going to eventually poke
through that cover so I’m going to
figure out a way to help protect that
and I don’t know if I’ll be successful
now at the bottom of the cover you do
have a velcro strap that will help but
keep it attached if you’re in a windy
condition and then the grill cover does
have a vent on the front and on the back
and yeah there’s a little vent just to
help it air out a little bit so this
just simply comes off and here is the
grill so it’s a really great grill for
someone who has a limited amount of
space such as we do we have a very small
patio here and it looks nice it’s black
and this is stainless feel here here and
here and you do have two side trays that
fold out like this they provide you some
much-needed space to you know put your
plates or the meats that you’ll be
grilling one thing those these do come
off very easily so you just need to be
careful when you’re using this that you
don’t accidentally caused the fall off
the ground there’s no no way to have it
permanently attached to the grill you’ve
got a nice legible thermometer up here
and I am able to consistently get 600
degrees with this closed and both
burners on high if I’m cooking with the
grill open however because this is just
two burners it doesn’t produce quite as
much heat as I would like and
particularly I can’t really get any
hotter than 600 degrees so when I want
to initially sear my meats it’s not
really quite hot enough to give a good
sear so what I’ve been doing is actually
Pam searing the meat
and then I bring it out and put it on
the grill but the grill itself seems to
be made really well and you do have a
warming rack up on the top and then
you’ve got these two pretty substantial
and they seem to be stainless steel
grills and they come out both of these
come out and then the burners themselves
they have two metal coverings and they
come out easily as well so here’s the
igniter and then there’s a couple cotter
pins back here so that you can reuse
this if it begins to rust after a few
years or whatever there’s a good
warranty on this however so that
hopefully shouldn’t be a problem
and as far as the igniter the start
right up and that’s on high and then I
can slowly turn this down to a low flame
[Music]
this does have an electronic ignition on
it it takes a double-a battery and that
just screws in here this is not a button
however the button to turn on the
igniter is actually built right into the
knob for the gas bill so basically all
you do is you turn this to the lighting
position and then push it in and it
should start right up and so that is it
really not a whole else to tell you
about this let me just spin it around oh
there are two little knobs here for
hanging your grilling utensils from and
then
there is no front opening on the lower
compartment here but this is where your
tank goes and there is a screw here to
hold the tank firmly into place and then
you do have a drip tray here as well and
that is about it I’m basically happy
with the size of this the wheels are a
little small so it doesn’t roll really
well when you are on anything but a
smooth surface but in my situation here
it’s not a big deal but I can see where
some people might have a problem the
wheels are very very small and other
than that it’s okay it’s not utterly
fantastic but I think for the price it’s
a pretty good value and we did look at a
couple other grilles and this we got
from a big box home store and it was
fully assembled when we got it now if
you get one that’s unassembled assembly
is going to take a little while but it
doesn’t seem like it’s very complex
really it’s just attaching everything
and screwing it all together so that’s
about it if you have any questions leave
a comment i’ll answer it if i can
otherwise thanks for watching happy
grilling
