How to Descale a Keurig Rivo?

welcome to the Keurig at home education
series we take you inside Keurig to
learn some easy solutions to some common
questions in this installment we’ll walk
you through how to properly descale your
Keurig rivo system using the Keurig
descaling solution Keurig brewer
performance matters and descaling
regularly helps to remove build-up that
can affect taste and quality ensuring
your Keurig brewer brews a perfect cup
every time we recommend descaling your
Revo system every three to six months to
begin you will need a full bottle of
Keurig descaling solution which can be
purchased online at Kiera com you’ll
also need a large mug that can hold at
least 10 ounces fresh water and access
to a sink will break it into three easy
phases first descaling solution rinse
secondly scaling solution rinse and
finally a fresh water rinse the process
should take about 20 minutes let’s start
with the first descaling solution rinse
which includes two quick steps to
prepare empty any water in the water
reservoir into the sink step 1 make sure
your Revo system is powered off then
pour the entire bottle of Keurig
descaling solution into the water
reservoir then fill the empty bottle
with water and pour it into the water
reservoir
press the power button on the right hand
side of the system to power your system
back on step 2 place your large mug on
the drip tray plate and run a cleansing
brew at the lungo size which is the
larger of the two size options do not
use a rivo pack then pour the hot
contents of the mug into the sink now
we’re ready for the second descaling
phase which is two steps step 1
repeat the cleansing brew process
without a rivo pack until the control
panel lights up in a circular pattern
indicating that the water reservoir is
empty step 2 discard any residual
solution into the sink and rinse the
water reservoir thoroughly with fresh
clean water then position the water
reservoir back in the system let’s move
on to the final phase the fresh water
rinse which is two steps step 1 ensure
the water reservoir is filled with fresh
clean water and run a cleansing brew at
the lungo brew size which is the larger
of the two size options do not use a
rivo pack once complete pour the hot
contents of the mug into the sink step 2
repeat the cleansing brew process until
you have completed at least 12 brews you
may need to refill the water reservoir
at least one time during this process
once complete your Revo system is ready
for normal use again thanks for joining
